UMC Recognized for Converting Mom/Baby Rooms to Medical-Surgical Rooms During COVID-19 Pandemic
Beginning this past August, UMC Health System in Lubbock, Texas, began experiencing a surge in COVID patients and decided to divert non-COVID patients to other floors in order to open up capacity. The Postpartum unit was among the units selected.
UMC Birth Center Earns State’s Highest Rating
The UMC Family Birth Center and Family Care Unit has been designated a Level IV maternal care facility, the highest level of care available. The Maternal Designation followed a site visit conducted by the Texas EMS Trauma and Acute Care Foundation (TETAF) with final designation presented through the Texas Department of State Health Services.
