It is that time of year! A few of our IT employees have continued to take their love of video games to raise money by participating in Extra Life. Cory White, Brent Delashaw, Brent Cray and Travis Lipe formed a team in 2016 and have now participated in four gaming marathons for Extra Life! We are so grateful for their dedication and willingness to participate in Extra Life, and all the money raised goes directly to UMC Children’s Hospital.
Extra Life unites players around the world in a 24-hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2007, Extra Life has raised more than $40 million for local CMN hospitals, like ours.
This year, the team decided to spice it up a little… Brent Cray agreed to do the “One Chip” challenge and stream it live for people to watch if they met their $2000 goal. The Paqui “One Chip” is a single tortilla chip coated in seasoning produced from the hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper. Since they raised $3,700, the challenge was completed! If you missed it, you can watch the replay here.
“We are happy to do anything we can to increase what Children’s Miracle Network is able to do for the kids at UMC Children’s Hospital,” said Brent Cray. “A great, simple way to do so is by playing our favorite games to raise money and awareness of CMN!”
